We met an international winemaker
Jessi and I have unintentionally avoided the many winemakers dinners that have been hosted around Portland for most of our stay here. It’s not that we didn’t want to attend one of these, it’s just that we prefer to do things like afford groceries and pay our bills. There seems to be a different tax bracket intended for these dinners. Neither of us reside in it. So shock and surprise when there...

Crepes anyone?
Once again inspired by Groupon to go someplace I’ve never even heard of, Jessi and I capped our pint night meal of Hot Lips pizza with a stop at Chez Machin for dessert. Don’t worry, we saved room. As I said before, I’ve never really heard of the place, but Groupon was offering an excellent 50% off deal and 1. It’s on SE Hawthorne near my house and 2. Crepes. Duh. With $25 to spend,...

Broder breakfast
Having not been out for breakfast in a while, I asked Steve and Jessi for a suggestion of a place we haven’t been. They suggested Broder on SE Clinton street, for a Swede-tastic breakfast experience. They were too lame to join us, but Les and Barb were equal to the task. Word to the wise, get there early for a weekend breakfast. It’s tiny in that place. I think they seat perhaps 10 tables,...
Jessi just accused me of tainting her cheese. I think I might be offended…
